Vincent Smith School Class of 2009
Adam Stachura, Salutatorian
Dedicated, determined, and resilient are just a few of the words used to describe Vincent Smith School Class of 2009 Salutatorian Adam Stachura. The aspiring historian loves to challenge the minds of his classmates and teachers with lively debates on past issues and current events.
It’s been close to seven years since Adam began classes at Vincent Smith School as a sixth grader. He’s an avid reader of anything he can get his hands on. His interests are broad and his knowledge is vast. Adam is looking forward beginning his college courses at St. Francis College’s Brooklyn Heights campus in the Fall. He knows it is the first step in making his mark and taking his own place in history.
Adam is known for his impeccable organizational skills. He likes sweets, fast food, lizards, talk radio and art museums. He is not a big fan of Santa Claus, loud noises and certain politicians. If his career as a historian doesn’t meet his expectations, he’ll switch gears and pursue his interest of becoming a comic book creator.
Throughout his tenure at Vincent Smith School Adam has enjoyed participating in activities such as the Gardening Club; the VSS Voice (school newspaper), and the Debate Club. He has been awarded the Adelaide Vincent Smith Award for Outstanding Scholarship (2006) and the Vincent Smith School Award for Academic Effort, Deportment and Service (2007).
