Vincent Smith School Special Education Exposes Parents to Providers

Vincent Smith School Students are Helping Long Islanders In Need

Vincent Smith School student government representatives recently invited Cynthia Sucich, Director of Communications from the Inn in Hempstead to discuss its needs so members could help out during their spring drives for food, clothing and funds.

Mrs. Sucich discussed The Inn’s valuable role in helping hungry, homeless and battered Long Islanders. Students were moved by her words and commitment to those less fortunate. Student government presented Mrs. Sucich with 30 pairs of jeans that will be distributed to guests at the Mary Brennan INN who visit the soup kitchen for a hot meal and clean clothes.

The student government has made The Inn a permanent partner and has collected various items and made deliveries every other week. Students will also be going to some of the Inn’s various shelters and soup kitchens on Long Island. They are currently collecting personal items such as toiletries.
