Special Persons Day at Vincent Smith School
Vincent Smith School opened its doors to some of the special people in the lives of its students. Visitors filled the school's gym finding a spot next to their favorite VSS lower school or middle school student. Students enjoyed the company of their special people and introduced them to classmates and teachers. Some students found themselves a little embarrassed as their special people recalled some of the “cute” stories from their past.
Breakfast and bingo proved to be a winning combination. The object of bingo was to fill in your board by covering all of the adjectives of special people as determined by the students. As listed in the day's program, the recipe for a special person includes unconditional love, encouragement, understanding, compassion, creativity, good ole fashioned fun and loving arms. It was evident that each of the special people in the VSS students' lives was a great combination of this recipe. The special relationships shared by students and their special people were heartwarming. Students invited parents, grandparents, coaches, neighbors, aunts, siblings, tutors, teachers and even older VSS students as their special guest.
