Vincent Smith School 2007 Walk-a-thon A Success

Vincent Smith School's 2007 Walk-a-thon was held on May 4th. The Walk-a-thon ended with a gala ceremony at Landmark on Main Street Park in Port Washington. The event celebrated 80 years of Vincent Smith School serving the educational needs of students on Long Island and surrounding communities.

In addition to the 2007 Excellence in Education Awards, the Walk-a-thon honored,

Shellianne Farris, Human Resources Manager, Lord & Taylor
Warren Shein, Deputy Commissioner of Parks and Recreation, Town of North Hempstead

Sponsors included The Schaefer Family Foundation: Bruce & Roberta Waller, Arena Sports & Graphics of Port Washington, Ben's Kosher Delicatessen of Greenvale, Astoria Federal Savings, and Mystic Tank Lines Corporation of Astoria.

All students at the school, grades 6 through 12, as well as the faculty and staff, participated in the Walk-a-thon. Proceeds from sponsors are used to help support the many programs at Vincent Smith School.
